Monitor the complete greenhouse root-zone system

An incoming substrate test does not replace greenhouse monitoring. Feed solution, drainage or leachate, irrigation uniformity, crop condition, and root-zone moisture should be reviewed using the grower’s own procedure. A change in water source, fertilizer program, container, climate, or irrigation strategy can change the outcome even when the incoming block specification is unchanged.

  1. Map the greenhouse program — Document crop, climate, container, irrigation water, fertigation ownership, drainage, sanitation, and planned shipment volume.
  2. Select incoming controls — Write particle profile, expansion, moisture, EC and pH methods, tolerance, lot definition, sampling, packing, and evidence.
  3. Trial in a controlled zone — Hydrate and fill as planned, monitor the actual feed and drainage context, and compare against the greenhouse’s accepted reference.
  4. Confirm commercial release — Link the approved requirement to quotation, order specification, labels, shipment documents, and receiving inspection.

Receiving inspection and change control

Inspect wrapping, marks, lot identity, moisture condition, and visible contamination before use. Draw samples according to the accepted lot plan, use the same EC and pH procedures stated in the order, and retain representative material when required. A greenhouse should quarantine questionable material until the agreed retest or disposition decision is complete.
